Join a guided walk through one of the best areas on the Island for butterflies. Along the way, spot Glanville Fritillary, Green Hairstreak, Small and Adonis Blues.

Sat 25 May. Discover the butterflies of the Afton area on an official Butterfly Conservation walk across the downs and along the cliffs.

On an hour long walk, your guide Megan will use the fossils and clues in the rocks to build a picture of the dramatic changes the Island has undergone before finishing with the indisputable evidence that dinosaurs once roamed across the Island – the famous Hanover Point dinosaur footprints.

There's a chance to find your own piece of our prehistoric past too, from fossilised bone, teeth and wood.

28 & 30 May and various dates through the summer holidays. Join Wight Coast Fossils at Compton Bay and travel back in time 130 million years to the Cretaceous period as you discover the fossils of the Compton coast.
