Round The Island Race at the Needles Old Battery
Experience the spectacle that is the Round of the Island Race from one of the most iconic points on the route - the Needles Headland.

Settle down on the grass and watch the waters fill with hundreds of colourful sails as the yachts come racing by the Needles Rocks.
The Old Battery will be open early from 7am and our tea-room will be serving breakfast snacks and hot and cold drinks. Plaza Ice Creams (not National Trust) will also be up at the New Battery and for the first time, admission to the Old Battery will be free until 12 noon, so you can enjoy the best views of the race for nothing.

The Battery and the Headland can be exposed and windy, so please wear clothing suitable for the weather on the day. You are welcome to bring a picnic and seating.
