Enjoy a night of movie magic under the starts at Chartwell.
Based on an incredible true story, 'The Great Escaper' follows 89-year-old Royal Navy veteran Bernie Jordan, who "escaped" his East Sussex care home in 2014 to attend the D-Day Landings’ 70th anniversary in Normandy.
His impromptu mission made headlines and captured the hearts of a nation. Portrayed by Michael Caine in his final film role, Bernie’s journey becomes a poignant mix of remembrance, love, and laughter. With Glenda Jackson shining as Irene, Bernie’s devoted wife of 60 years. This is more than a war tale; it’s a story about enduring love, legacy, and living life to the fullest.
