- Free event (admission applies)
Celebrate Christmas at Chartwell inspired by Sir Winston Churchill’s love for animals. From cherished pets and exotic creatures to farmyard favourites, enjoy delightful decorations with different animal themes in house this Christmas season.
Feel the Christmas spirit as soon as you arrive at Chartwell with plenty of festive photo opportunities around trees, beneath garlands and beside other welcoming displays. From the Café, Shop and Visitor Centre as well as outside the house and studio, immerse yourself in the Christmas atmosphere as you explore Chartwell.
As you explore inside the house, look out for decorations inspired by the delicate butterflies he raised and released in the gardens and the golden orfe fish he fed in the ponds. Don’t forget Jock, the marmalade cat whose tradition continues as the 7th adorable feline in comfortable residence at Chartwell. What other animals will you discover on your visit?
Throughout your visit, our knowledgeable room guides will regale you with tales of Chartwell Christmases gone by and children will enjoy a family-friendly spotter activity.
Entry into the house is by timed ticket, available on the day from the Visitor Centre on a first come first served basis.
Christmas in the house runs from Friday 28 November 2025–Sunday 4 January 2026 (except Christmas Eve/Christmas Day), 11am–3pm with last entry at 2.30pm.
