This lecture will cover the basis of mushroom production. From understanding mushrooms' unique life cycle to learning techniques that can be applied at home. Which substrates to use, how to avoid contamination and step by step care for optimal yield. At the end of the lecture the audience will be empowered to start their own mushroom production journey.
Dilena Fungi is a mushroom production project launched by two biologists Diogo Ribeiro and Madalena Mariano from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. By applying microbial biotechnology from the lab to the field they started production stations on their Faculty's campus. This project also aims to provide education regarding this topic, from workshops to lectures in festivals and at their University.
