Painted Papers: Bloomsbury Group Art Workshop

Artist Sarah Tanat-Jones leads a workshop where you will create artwork using the traditional techniques of the Bloomsbury Group.

  • Booking essential

Create a work of art using the traditional techniques of the Bloomsbury Group which you can take home with you.

Artist and illustrator Sarah Tanat-Jones, whose illustrations are displayed in our current exhibition 'Between the Covers', will guide you through using sponge painting, prints from natural materials, stencils and mark making to bring your creation to life.

This workshop emphasises the creative process, guiding you through the experimental and colourful ways to create a work of art as you go.

This workshop takes place in the Elizabethan Tower, right above Vita Sackville-West’s famous Writing Room.

There are two separate bookable sessions.

Session 1 will take place between 11:00- 13:30.

Session 2 will take place between 14:30 - 17:00.

Please note: the ticket price does not include re-admission to the garden and collection spaces. After the session, visitors wishing to remain in the garden can do so. Visitors wishing to re-enter the garden once leaving the session must obtain a timed entry ticket from Visitor Reception by purchasing one or scanning their membership card. All workshop materials are included in the ticket price.
