Summer of Play at South Foreland Lighthouse

Let's go back in time and let our children and grandchildren enjoy the games of yesteryear—those we used to play at school, in the park or at home.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

There’s lots of fun to be had this summer at South Foreland Lighthouse. From 19 July to 2 September, join us for a selection of games and activities from yesteryear. Try your hand at hula hoops, bean bags, skipping, and skittles, or you could even challenge another family to a sack race! Hot and tired? Then why not enjoy an ice cream on one of our picnic benches? Put your sun hat on and come and make the most of being outdoors this summer. Our Summer of Play has something fun for everyone. Weather permitting, the games will be out every day. Games are free of charge for all, subject to availability and some may require adult help. While the children are having playing, why not relax with a nice cuppa and one of our delicious cakes from Mrs Knott's tea room? Admission to the Lighthouse grounds is free, normal parking charges apply. Summer of Play is sponsored by Starling Bank and supported by Sport England.
