Does your child like a good story? Then bring them along to one of our Summer of Play storytelling events. We've some lovely, captivating stories to tell - and a lovely place to tell them in.

If your child likes a good story, then you are in the right place at South Foreland Lighthouse. As part of our Summer of Play activities, you can gather around our experienced reader for some magical stories in our idyllic grounds. The stories are aimed at 5-8-year-olds, although there is no strict age limit on the event. Please ensure your child is accompanied by a responsible adult, as we cannot be responsible for unaccompanied children.

Meet outside the Marconi Hut (near the toilet block) on the hour between 11am and 4pm
- What to bring and wear
Please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather. If it is raining, we will have limited seating available in the Marconi Hut.
- Accessibility
Wheelchair users are welcome - there is a shallow step into the Marconi Hut if it is raining. There is no accessible seating available.
- Other
Storytelling sessions will start on the hour, every hour between 11am and 4pm. Free event for members and non-members, no need to book - just turn up and enjoy. Normal parking charges apply. There is no public vehicle access to South Foreland Lighthouse; please park at the White Cliffs or our additional parking area and walk across to the Lighthouse. If you are a blue badge holder, please telephone the Lighthouse office in advance for directions. Events are subject to weather conditions and availability. Interested in stargazing? We have a special visit from the SE Kent Astronomical Society, who will bring some of their lovely telescopes and show us how astronomy can be enjoyed safely in the daytime too.
Summer Sports Day
Have fun with the family, the staff and the volunteers of the lighthouse on the last day of the Summer Holidays with our Summer Sports Day.
