In this child-friendly event, you'll join our rangers on a visit to our natterjack toad ponds to learn about their life cycles.

This event is for children aged 6 and above, accompanied by an adult.

Meeting point

Meet at the Red Hut, in Sandscale Haws carpark.

What to bring and wear

Footwear appropriate for uneven terrain is recommended, such as walking boots or trainers. Wellies are also recommended as we will be doing pond dipping.

Accessibility

The terrain at Sandscale Haws is composed of a mix of steep sand dunes, pools, salt marsh and shingle beaches. The event will be concentrated within the dunes, and so we will stick to pathways. The ground is uneven, and brambles are present onsite. Pond dipping will occur in a sloped, fenced off area.
