This winter we’re planning to remove the rubble from the beach and restore rare sand dune habitats at Victoria Road. Pop down to our local office for a chat with the team about this conservation project. We may not have the answers to all your questions just yet, but we want to use this opportunity to talk with local people, understand your questions so that we can gather together the information and share with everyone in future updates.

Removing the rubble from the sand dunes will bring long lasting benefits for people and wildlife. The plan is to use most of the rubble to create a more sustainable, similar sized car park further in land. Restoring the frontal sand dunes to their natural state will re-invigorate the natural processes needed for rare wildlife to thrive. Removing the rubble from the beach will create a safer, more natural space for people to enjoy. Healthy mobile sand dunes also act as a natural sea defence.
