Wellness River Walks

A series of mindful riverside walks along the Wandle for all, exploring wellbeing, nature and African Indigenous Spirituality, led by Dr Michelle Asantewa.

To mark the 10th anniversary of the Annual Osun River Ritual, you are invited to join the Yeye Osun Wellness River Walks, a series of monthly guided walks open to all.

Led by Dr Michelle Asantewa, each walk follows the Wandle River into Morden Hall Park and offers gentle mindful walking, sensory connection with nature and guided reflection on seasonal themes inspired by rivers, wellbeing and renewal. No prior knowledge or spiritual background is needed.

Walks last around 90 minutes and end with the option to gather at the park’s main café for reflection. Part of the proceeds support the 10th Anniversary Osun River Ritual in August.

Walk leader bio Dr Michelle Asantewa is an award-winning author, independent educator and cultural consultant. She is co-founder of the Annual Osun River Ritual and has led multiple wellness walks and reflective activities at Morden Hall Park, welcoming participants from all backgrounds to explore wellbeing, culture and connection with nature.

Meeting point

Meet outside main entrance of Sainsbury’s/Marks and Spencer’s at Colliers Wood before walking along the Wandle River into Morden Hall Park.

What to bring and wear

Comfortable walking shoes with good grip and weather-appropriate clothing. Layers are recommended. Wearing white or yellow is encouraged in alignment with Osun’s colours. Please bring water.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the event. This event is not suitable for dogs (except assistance dogs).

Park Explorers for under 5s term time on Mondays
