This LGBTQ+ History Month, join nature educator Abi to learn about queerness in nature and in the park’s flora with a lecture followed by a guided nature walk around the park.

Join us for a Queer Ecology Talk and Guided Walk by Abi Young. Celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month by exploring the intersection of queerness and nature.

Abi will teach you all about queerness in nature during a 30 minute lecture. We will then go on a guided walk around the park to discover a whole host a fascinating queer specimens.

Tickets:

£10 standard £7 concession (limited availability)

Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Concessions: We are offering limited £7 concession tickets for those on Pension Credit, Universal Credit, Disability Benefit, Income Support or Job Seekers allowance.

Tutor Bio: Abi Young (they/them) is an Environmental Educator with a passion for engaging people in the natural world and inspiring them to protect it. Their work brings queer ecology, increasing inclusion and access to nature, as well as inspiring climate action through outdoor learning.

What to bring and wear

Part of the session will involve an outdoor walk so please dress for the weather.

Accessibility

The lecture is held in the park’s exhibition space, which is wheelchair accessible with toilet facilities nearby. Please contact us in advance if you have specific access requirements. Disabled parking is available in the main car park.
