Morden Hall Park: A Creative Walk with Kingston School of Art
Join us for a creative walk led by Kingston school of Art. You will engage in nature and deep history of Morden Hall Park through movement, reading, and printmaking activities.
- Booking essential
The walk will be led by a team from Kingston School of Art who have a shared interest in alternative heritage practices. It is designed to awaken participants’ senses, to encourage them to engage intimately with the Park’s diverse spaces and abundant nature, and to interact with its deep history. Participants will learn new techniques for connecting with the environment, which they might then apply to other places that are familiar and important to them.
The creative walk has three sections, each of which focuses on a different way of engaging with the Park. The first invites participants to engage playfully with the Park’s plant life through movement and through their senses. The second will involve reading literary texts at different points in the Park, which will prompt fresh perspectives on the Park’s natural and economic histories, and its possible futures. The third will see participants create of an artefact made from materials sourced from the Park’s environment, which will enable an investigation of the Park’s ecology and its representation as a heritage site.
No previous experience or particular skills are required.
