Diwali and Osterley's Marigold Festival
The Marigold Festival will run from Diwali, the five day festival of light, and continue into the winter. Osterley will be transformed with marigolds over the season, a celebratory flower used to adorn doorways and holiday tables for Diwali.

Osterley's Marigold Festival will run from 22nd October 2025 to 4th January 2026 and will be the cornerstone of our winter programming over that time. Diwali is the five-day Festival of Lights, celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, and some Buddhists across the world. Diwali, which for some also coincides with harvest and new year celebrations, is a festival of new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil, and light over darkness. The Marigold Festival at Osterley is a celebration for everyone to enjoy and participate in, and we are involving local community groups to help us create it. Much like the National Trust's Blossom Festival in the Spring, inspired by cherry blossom season (Sakura) in Japan, the Marigold Festival is specific to Osterley as a place, and we are looking to build on it annually. This year, we will be focusing on exploring classical Indian music in the Yellow Breakfast Room, where music was traditionally played in Osterley House. The Entrance Hall will be decorated with a rangoli pattern to mirror architect Robert Adam's floor design, and projected light will bring the space to life.
