Bio-sonification Live at Felbrigg’s Walled Garden

Experience the magic of plant music in a unique setting with a series of late openings this summer.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Ever wondered what plants sound like? Join Martin Noble-James from Revolutionary Biscuits in Felbrigg’s renowned Walled Garden to find out.

By night an audio experimentalist and by day a Felbrigg gardener – Martin has expert insight into the plants he makes playful and relaxing music with. Using sensors similar to an ECG machine, witness him translate the electrical impulses produced by plants into musical notes using his trusty analog synthesizer. Discover how factors like the weather affects the inner workings of plants and influence the live composition.

Bring a blanket, pack a picnic and enjoy otherworldly sounds at sunset in Felbrigg’s much-admired Walled Garden – bursting at the seams with heady colour, fragrance and textures.

Suitable for all ages. Free entry for National Trust members. Assistance dogs only.
