Great Big Green Week at Gibside: plant a salad
Drop in to learn more about growing your own food and plant seeds to grow a salad at home.

Drop in to make your own recycled newspaper plant pot and plant seeds to grow a summer salad. Available seeds to choose from may include lettuce, rocket, radishes, pea shoots and edible flowers. Take home your plant pot, pop it on your windowsill and watch your creation grow. Adults and children of all ages welcome. Drop in on the day, no booking required. Free, normal admission applies.
Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest ever celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. This year it runs from Saturday 8 June to Sunday 16 June, and the theme is swaps. At Gibside, we’re empowering you to make simple swaps and grow your own seasonal produce.
