For five Christmases, the rooms of Ormesby Hall have been transformed into the magical worlds of some of our best-loved fairy tales. This year, A Fairy tale Christmas returns for one final chapter.
Oh Yes It Is ... A Fairytale Christmas
Friday 27 November – Wednesday 23 December, on selected opening days
From the moment you step inside the mansion, you'll find Christmas trees, lights and decorations filling the house. Each room tells a different story, taking you from The Snow Queen's Realm to Alice's Wonderland Tea Party, The Little Mermaid's Underwater Kingdom and more.
The decorations don't stop with just a few rooms. Follow the fairy tales through the Entrance Hall, Drawing Room and Dining Room, up the staircase and along the Gallery Landing, before discovering more beautifully decorated rooms throughout the first floor.
After five Christmases of fairy tales at Ormesby Hall, 2026 is your final chance to experience it.
And then, perhaps, it's time for happily ever after.
When is A Fairy tale Christmas open?
A Fairy tale Christmas opens on Friday 27 November and can be enjoyed every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday until Monday 21 December.
We'll then open for two additional days on Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December, giving families another chance to visit once the schools have broken up and enjoy a little Christmas magic just before the big day.

Normal admission applies to visit Ormesby Hall, house, garden and cafe. £7 for an adult, £3.50 for a child and £17.50 for a family. Free entry for National Trust members and under fives. No booking required.
Festive Evenings
Experience a special Christmas evening with late night opening on Friday 4 and Friday 11 December, 5pm - 8pm (last entry at 7.30pm).
There is something particularly magical about Ormesby Hall at Christmas once darkness falls.
For two nights in December, we're keeping the doors open late so you can explore the fairy-tale rooms by night, when the Christmas lights and decorations take on a completely different atmosphere.
There'll be live festive music, while Mrs Christmas will be telling stories in the Library.
Outside, gather around the firepit for marshmallow toasting, while the café will be serving seasonal food and drink including crumble pots, mince pies and mulled wine.
The Festive Evenings run from 5–8pm, with the house and café closing at 7.30pm. The garden will be closed during the evenings.
Normal admission applies and no pre-booking is required.
Festive food and drink
No Christmas visit is complete without something warming to eat or drink.
Our café will be open throughout A Fairy tale Christmas, serving seasonal food, sweet treats and hot drinks. Take a break during your visit and enjoy your food in the café, cosy Snug or historic Victorian kitchen.
The café is open from 10.30am–3.30pm, with last orders at 3pm.

Before you leave, make sure you have a rummage through our second-hand bookshop, tucked away just off the internal courtyard beside the Laundry.
With shelves packed with pre-loved books, including plenty for younger readers, you might even find another fairy tale to take home.

An admission ticket for the house and garden is needed to visit and enjoy the activities, with National Trust members and under 5s free admission.
