North East Emerging Artist Award

Your chance to explore work from emerging and early career artists in or from the region. See the final pieces from the three winners from 2024: Jordan Edge, Phoebe Scott and Lucy Waters.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

You can find sonic artist Jordan’s work, an aeolian harp titled The Lyre of Elysium, on the South Portico steps of the Central Hall, interdisciplinary artist Phoebe’s Glamour of the Big Wigs, partially woven using nettles from the gardens, in the Entrance Hall, and ceramic artist Lucy Waters’ Delaval Ware in the wine store in the Basement.

A collaboration between curator, Matthew Jarratt and Seaton Delaval Hall, the NE Emerging Artist Award takes inspiration from the hall’s long-standing history of supporting and encouraging emerging creative talent. The award aims to showcase site specific contemporary art in an historic context.
