North East Blossom: The birds, the bees and the blossom by Bethan Maddocks
See artwork by visual artist Bethan Maddocks and poetry by writer John Challis, exploring themes of nature recovery and blossom as a symbol of hope and renewal. Works have been created with participation from local community groups.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Bethan's new work will explore the ecology of plants, and blossom's relationship with pollinators, and food production through a moving shadow sculpture located in the Basement. The installation incorporates an ambient soundscape along with original poetry from Seaton Delaval Hall's former writer-in-residence, John Challis.
The artwork has been developed alongside community participants from Northern Butterflies, Changing Lives and New Hartley First School.
