Dawn chorus at Washington Old Hall
Celebrating International Dawn Chorus Day. Rise early to immerse yourself in nature's greatest symphony, the sweet sound of birdsong.
- Booking essential
Get up with the lark and follow the dawn chorus around the gardens. Find out which bird is making the most noise, and hopefully spot one or two of them.
We'll identify birds along the way, distinguishing a blue tit from a bullfinch, a blackcap from a siskin. Discover the delights of duelling thrushes, the fluting flourish of the blackcap and the rapid chaffinch whistle.
We love dogs, but please leave them at home for a lie-in while you enjoy this event.
Tea and coffee provided.
Please note, as this event takes place outside normal opening hours, the hall and bookshop will be closed.
