See history brought to life as you watch the 18th century water-powered cornmill in action.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Find yourself in 19th century Castle Ward when the water-powered mill is fired up. Volunteers will be running the cornmill machinery on the last Sunday of every month.
Once a tidal mill, the lovingly restored water mill powers a host of machinery to turn wheat into edible grains. You'll be transported back in time to a everyday life at Castle Ward in the 18th and 19th centuries as you listen the to the machines clunk and whirr and watch the massive grindstones in action.
