Join local landscape artist Sarah Carrington on the peaceful estuary of the Barmouth to appreciate and observe this beautiful nature reserve, through painting and mixed media. Explore the sandy shoreline and views across the River Bann to the sea from the Bird hide, using watercolour and sketching techniques to describe this tranquil and protected natural location.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring a sketchbook/a dozen sheets of paper, acrylics/watercolours (ideally a travel box), pens, chalks, pencils, favourite brushes - whatever you like to paint with; masking tape and water pot with water. Drawing boards and extra brushes will be provided. If you have a portable seat, it is recommended. Please wear clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for walking and painting, whatever the weather. If required, bring a drink and snacks for yourself.
Some background about the artist:
Sarah Carrington was born in Scotland and studied Fine Art at Edinburgh University. Since graduating in 1999, she has been practising as a professional artist, specialising in landscape drawing and painting. Currently based on the beautiful Causeway Coast, Sarah finds endless inspiration for her artwork. She exhibits her work locally and throughout the UK, and regularly facilitates painting workshops within schools and local communities, celebrating the beauty of natural landscape.
