Community beach clean at Portstewart Strand

Soak in fantastic views and fresh air whilst helping to keep this beautiful beach clean with a twist !

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event

Join The Portstewart Community Association and National Trust, alongside researchers from Ulster University and Queen’s University, for a unique hands-on experience at The Strand! Help us prepare the beach and dunes for the summer season with a community clean-up — but with a twist…

As we collect litter, university researchers will demonstrate how materials can be separated and transformed into innovative products, including 3D printing filament and sustainable building materials. Be part of an exciting circular waste project turning beach waste into something valuable!

Everyone is welcome — all ages and abilities. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

All equipment will be supplied — just bring your enthusiasm! Be part of something meaningful — help protect our coastline and see how science is transforming waste into opportunity.
