Come along and enjoy a fascinating day of wildlife watching at Strangford Lough's beautiful shoreline. Whether you're a seasoned birdwatcher or a complete beginner, everyone is welcome.

Join National Trust rangers for a birdwatching event at one of the best locations around Strangford Lough. This is the time of year when geese, ducks, waders and many other bird species migrate from northern countries to spend the winter on our sheltered mudflats. Discover the incredible wildlife that calls Strangford Lough home and learn about the important surveys our staff and volunteers undertake to monitor bird populations and their habitats. With a bit of luck, you may even spot a bird with a ring on its leg and learn how bird ringing helps scientists track migration routes and understand bird behaviour.

This site has no shelter, so please come prepared with warm clothing and waterproofs if required Binoculars are recommended if you have them

Drop in sessions , Rangers will be on site from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Please leave dogs at home, as even well-behaved dogs on a lead can disturb feeding and roosting birds
