Do you want to spend your time learning, meeting people and being part of a great team? Belfast has a wide variety of places we look after and opportunities to get involved in, there really is something to suit everyone.

Roles and Opportunities

Belfast is a microcosm of what the National Trust does, looking after everything from coast to mountain, forest to meadow, industrial to horticultural heritage, gin palace to Mausoleum.

Whether your interests lie in nature conservation, gardening, blacksmithing or helping people enjoy our spaces on their terms, there will be an opportunity to suit. You could have the chance to work alongside the ranger team and learn about more the importance of conserving special places like Cregagh Glen and Lisnabreeny for the future, or you could get involved with tasks such as scything wildflower meadows to help improve their diversity.

You could learn the stories of Rowallane Garden and help to share this with visitors by getting involved in our programming. At Patterson’s Spade Mill you could join us in keeping the craft of blacksmithing and spade making alive for future generations.

Careers engagement and development

Playing our part to support the development of skills for employment, facilitating work experience and supporting academic placements is an important part of the life of at the Belfast properties. Please get in touch to find out more.
