Join us for a special guided walk at Sandilands to mark World Habitat Day, led by Carl Hawke, Nature Conservation Advisor for the National Trust.
Together, we’ll explore this dynamic coastal landscape and hear directly from Carl about the work taking place to create and restore habitats that support both resident and migrating wildlife. From scrub planting to wetland creation, discover how Sandilands is being carefully shaped into a thriving haven for nature.
This is a chance to walk alongside one of the experts behind the scenes, gain a deeper understanding of the conservation efforts underway, and see how nature is being given the space it needs to flourish.
Whether you're passionate about wildlife, curious about the changes at Sandilands, or simply looking to connect with nature, we’d love for you to join us.
This event is free to join. Donations are warmly welcomed, every contribution goes directly towards caring for Sandilands.
Suitable for all abilities. Walk at your own pace and enjoy the journey. Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome.

Meet Carl at the northern end of the site, near the carpark just before 10am.
- What to bring and wear
Suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy walking boots or shoes are recommended. We'd advise bringing a drink too.
