Archaeology Fun Days
Gets hands-on with history as we celebrate the Festival of Archaeology!
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
For this years Festival of Archaeology, visit Tattershall Castle, and learn about a magnificent 800 year history.
During your visit, you will be able to discover artefacts which were uncovered during the castle's restoration in the early 1900s, and you will be able to hear talks from trained artefact handlers on how archaeologists work with, and learn from, what they excavate.
If you are up for a bit of walking, you could also do our Archaeology Walk. This ten point 1.2km walk takes in the wider estate of Ralph's Cromwell's Tattershall Castle, and provides further information on the scale and importance of the site during the 1400s, as well as its archaeological significance today.
There will be archaeology themed activities available in the castle including a free spotter trail.
This event will be running alongside our Summer of Play event.
