Heritage Open Days offer an opportunity to celebrate this special place, so as a thank you for supporting heritage we are offering FREE admission to The Workhouse and Infirmary.
Step behind the doors of the Workhouse and Infirmary, where over 200 years of history reveal changing attitudes to poverty and care.
Built in 1824 for up to 158 inmates, this is one of the country’s best-preserved workhouses.
Come along to discover charming mice dioramas that bring Everyday Stories to life. Discover secret sundials, candlelit corners, and striking architecture, uncovering the lives once lived here.
Engaging, immersive, and full of surprises, it’s a unique experience for visitors of all ages—perfect for a memorable day out with family and friends.
