Stargazing in the North Orchard
Experience the night sky through powerful telescopes with members of the Melton Astronomy Society. Learn how to identify constellations, planets and deep-sky objects while enjoying expert guidance from local astronomy enthusiasts.
Have your own telescope? Bring it along and join fellow stargazers in the orchard. Members of the Melton Astronomy Society will be on hand to help you set up your equipment and get the best views of the night sky.
Planetarium Shows
Enjoy an immersive tour of the night sky with 40-minute pop-up planetarium shows.
Expert Talks Throughout the Evening
Enjoy a programme of short, timed talks in the Manor House delivered by guest speakers from the University of Nottingham and the University of Leicester. Topics will include space exploration, current astronomical discoveries and the science behind our universe.
The Illuminated Apple Tree
Witness the Manor's famous apple tree transformed with a spectacular colour illumination display. Against the backdrop of the evening sky, this iconic landmark will be brought to life in vibrant colours and effects, creating a breath-taking sight unlike anything seen before.
Booking is only for the planetarium show and visitors are welcome to explore the rest of the site between 5pm and 8pm.

Designated mobility parking, one wheelchair available for pre-booking. Accessible toilet. Ramp from car park to shop, steep slope to house. Ground floor of building has steps, narrow doorways and small rooms, ramps available. Stairs to other floors.
