Introduction to Blacksmithing Workshop
Sorry, this event is now sold out.
- Booking essential
Enjoy a full day workshop getting to grips with the basics of blacksmithing. Starting with that all important chat about safety, you will then get straight to it, learning to hammer metal to a point and spreading the metal followed by making a simple poker each. You will then move on to making hooks and various other items. Everything you make you get to take home with you at the end of the course.
This course is suitable for beginners, no prior blacksmithing experience is needed. For those who already have experience with blacksmithing we run an intermediate course.
Your tutor is David Gregory, an experienced master blacksmith whose work includes original commissions and a wide range of restoration projects. David also occasionally takes commissions for film and television productions. This course is limited to six participants to allow everyone plenty of time with the course tutor.
Introduction to blacksmithing workshops take place on the 6 April and the 14 of July. There will be a break for lunch and a mess room to eat lunch in, alternatively there is an on-site café. Tea and coffee provided.
