28 June: weave your own small landscape or seascape from wool using a rigid heddle loom.

Tapestry pictures are often woven on simple frame. With a rigid heddle loom the warp threads can be raised or lowered which allows enough time to complete a picture in a day, which will be yours to take home.

Seascapes without high cliffs or landscapes without steep hills are ideal. Weaving with two closely coloured yarns can give interesting effects. You will be also be able to practice techniques such as meet and separate which work well on a simple frame.

This course is suitable for beginners, as well as those looking to improve and develop their weaving technique. No prior experience with weaving is needed.

The tutor for this course is Angela Pawlyn. Angela is a member of both the Oxford and Kennet Valley Guilds of Weavers Spinners and Dyers. She has nearly fifty years of weaving experience and teaches at several venues across Oxfordshire. We keep class sizes small to allow you plenty of time with the course tutor.

This course takes place on 28 June, 10am-4pm. There will be a short break for lunch and tea/coffee is provided.
