Green Wood Spoon Carving

17th May: learn key green woodworking skills and make a spoon to take home with you.

  • Booking essential

This course is a good introduction to green woodworking. Using a selection of hand tools, including axes and knives, you'll take a log and shape it in to a wooden spoon to take home.

This course is ideally suited to beginners.

Your tutor for this course is Rob Thorpe. Rob is a residential craftsperson at the Heritage and Rural Skills centre. He has been a green woodworker for 12 years, and also has 20 years of teaching experience, having run many green wood courses.

We keep class sizes small, to give all participants a chance to engage with the tutor and learn at their own pace.

All materials and tools required for the course will be provided. This Spoon Carving course takes place on 17th May, 10am - 4pm. There will be a break for lunch and a mess room to eat lunch in, alternatively there is an on-site café. Tea and coffee provided.
