Round Shopper Basket Making
Sorry, this event is now sold out.
- Booking essential
This course will teach you all the fundamental stages of making a traditional basket. You'll make the base, add the uprights and then weave the sides before adding a handle. A basket like this can last decades and carry heavy loads.
No experience is required. This course is perfect for people really wanting to learn how to craft baskets.
Your tutor for this course is Suzy Williams of The Coppice Co. In 2018 Suzy won a place on the National Coppicing Apprenticeship Scheme, during which she learned vital skills and knowledge from seasoned coppice workers. Now she manages coppice woodlands alongside teaching and selling traditional woodland crafts.
Our class sizes are small, so you'll have a chance to engage with the tutor while you work.
Saturday 12 October, 10.30am-4pm. There will be a short break for lunch and tea/coffee is provided.
