See Calke from a new perspective while increasing your connection to nature with Karen from Better Outdoors. Join a slow paced walk, tuning in to your senses, paying closer attention to the details you might normally miss on a hike or when walking the dog.

As part of the walk, you may be invited to spend time taking mindful photographs to deepen your awareness of your surroundings and engage with the moment.

Meet at the information point in Calke Explore.

What to bring and wear

Please wear weather appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for walking across varied terrain that may be wet or muddy. Please also bring a camera or phone to enable you to take pictures.

Accessibility

The walk will be off surfaced and/or established paths where terrain may be uneven including areas of mud, long grass and tree roots. There will be no steps or stiles but there will be areas with steeper inclines/declines. The walk will cover around 1.5 miles within the same area.

Other

The walk from the meeting point to the event location will take 5-10 minutes, this is not included in the session which will be 1 hour. Please allow extra time when planning your day around attending the event. The walk will go ahead in all weathers unless it unsafe to do so. This is not a guided or nature identification walk, but a chance to be more present in the moment and connect to the natural abundance of the Calke’s parkland.
