Summer of Play at Ilam Park

Have lots of fun at Ilam Park this summer, where we’re celebrating our biggest Summer of Play yet! From 19 July to 7 September, families will be spoilt for choice with events for all ages. Join us to explore the Ribbon Maze, play in the Mud Kitchen and even try your hand at dance classes or a dog show. You can enjoy an ice cream sat in the picturesque Italian Gardens or relax at a shady picnic spot in our accessible parkland. Summer of Play is proudly sponsored by Starling Bank.
Get that festival feeling
Ilam Park’s breathtaking views across rolling hills and the River Manifold, form the perfect backdrop for this year’s Summer of Play events.
Fluttering flags, colourful bunting and play around every corner promises a festival feeling, alongside a wide range of wonderful adventurous and creative activities, under the summer sky.
The beautiful parkland and river mean visitors of all ages can find tranquil spaces to enjoy a day out at their own pace.
Summer of Play activities for all ages
Throughout the week, Ilam Park extends a warm invitation to drop in and let the spontaneous spirit of play take over.
We’ve devised five different play zones this year, to entertain children of all ages: Creative Play, Active Play, Performance Play, Natural Play and Loose Parts Play. Feel free to wander and engage with the various play installations at your own pace.
Set in front of the magnificent Ilam Hall - the colourful Ribbon Maze promises lots of fun for exploration. For nature fans, there's a special Mud Kitchen, which the little ones will love.
Older children can burn off some energy with our ‘Race Around the Park’ challenge game. All the family can try their hand at The Frisbee Golf Driving Range or come and be creative in the craft tent.
On the weekends and select dates join us for extra exciting events from a mini dog show, to dance workshops and music.
Put your sun hat on and come and make the most of being outdoors this summer, creating memorable moments.
