Summer of Play at Longshaw

Have you ever wondered what our Rangers do, day to day. Have fun finding out through some of our activities. Gully Racing, Leaves Bingo, Do you know your Country Code? Experience the Barefoot path in the Kitchen Garden.

Each Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the summer holidays, the Moorland Discovery Centre will host games, activities or crafting sessions. Check the website for details for when sessions are running. All ages are very welcome, but as a guide, Moorland Discovery Centre activity sessions are designed for children aged 5-10.

History walk: Longshaw Through Time July 2026 

A moderate guided walk exploring the vast history of the Longshaw Estate from the Bronze age to the 18th Century through its hidden archaeological features.

A moderate 1.7-mile walk aimed at young people to inspire and discover the history of the Longshaw, through the archaeological evidence of its past users including travellers, farmers and soldiers of WW1 and Victorian visitors.
