Benthall comprises historically significant gardens, a fascinating manor house with a long history and beautiful parkland on a plateau above the gorge of the River Severn. Find out all you need to know about visiting Benthall Hall with your group.

Benthall Hall

Discover layers of history at Benthall Hall with your group. From a role in the Civil War, to traces of the industrialisation of Victorian Britain, to a home for evacuees in World War II.

We welcome group visits on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Due to our small size, we don’t accept bookings for weekends or during school holidays. Please check current opening days and times before your visit.

In order to ensure we provide the best possible experience for you and your group we ask that all coach trips and large groups contact the hall at least a week before their visit, by emailing benthall@nationaltrust.org.uk or phoning 01952 882159.

Admission

Groups of 10 people or more receive a 5% discount on entry.

Members must bring their current membership cards with them to avoid paying the full group rate. If any of your group would like to join the National Trust please direct them to our Membership page or call 0344 800 1895

Tours

Due to the size of the property we can’t offer guided tours for groups unfortunately, although our knowledgable volunteers are available to add context and answer questions. We would also ask groups larger than 20 people to stagger their entry into the house as the rooms are small and get overwhelmed quickly

Food and drink

The Shepherd's Shed cafe kiosk in the car park serves warm savoury snacks, locally made cakes and bakes, and takeaway barista style hot drinks (please remember your reusable takeaway cups).

Some outdoor seating is available near the café and there is space in the grounds and parkland for picnics.

Accessibility

Gentle slopes in the garden. Accessible toilet available. Steep slopes and uneven ground on woodland walk. More information about accessibility at Benthall can be found here: Benthall Hall - National Trust | AccessAble

If a group member needs to bring a carer or an essential companion on the visit, you can apply for an essential companion card through the National Trust free of charge. Access for everyone | National Trust

Coaches

The car park at Benthall Hall is small, please get in touch a week prior to the day of your visit if you are planning to bring a coach.

Booking for your Group

We ask organised groups arriving in more than 5 vehicles or a single coach to get in touch with the property 7 days before their visit. Email benthall@nationaltrust.org.uk or phone 01952 882159. Once you have been in touch we may send a booking form if necessary.
