• Why have you replaced the old machines?

  The previous parking machines were out of contract in late 2025, and unfortunately, continuing with the existing system was no longer a viable option. These changes have been introduced to ensure we can offer a reliable service that's more fit for purpose for all our visitors into the future. We understand that there’s wide demand for more ways to pay, and the new machines will include the ability to pay by contactless to make it easier for visitors. Payments and membership scans can also be made via the JustPark app.

• What is the JustPark app?

  The app the Trust is using is JustPark, which operates at over 25 Local Authorities across the UK and has over 13m drivers registered. Find out more about it here: JustPark - The Parking App | Find parking in seconds 

• Is the JustPark app available in every car park?

  Yes. The app compliments the visitor journey and is available in every car park. 

• What are the 'location codes' for each car park?

  The JustPark Parking codes are:

  • Comer Woods: 80564
  • Hampton Loade: 80565
  • Sawmill: 80566

• What happens if I can't get enough mobile signal to use the app?

  Once set up, JustPark needs very little signal to process transactions. If you are are unable to get a signal on arrival, you can make a payment when you next have wifi/mobile signal within 24 hours. Please download the app on the App Store or get it on Google Play ahead of your visit. Alternatively, payments can be made by calling JustPark on 07520634455 and quoting the location parking code (as listed above).

• Do I need a ticket?

  We’ve moved to a visitor journey which will not print tickets. Not only does this save the cost, effort and paper of replacing ticket rolls, but it enables visitors to start their experience at our places without having to return to their car.

• Without a ticket how will you know I’ve paid/scanned?

  The machine will ask you to add your registration number so we’ll know you’ve paid from that. We’ll also know if you’ve used the app to pay or check-in with your membership card.

• Will I be able to get a receipt of payment?

  At the machine you can request an optional receipt if you paid by contactless card. There are two options in the JustPark app, which each cost 20p additional to the parking fee:

  • A reminder - which is not needed as parking lasts all day.
  • An email receipt, which is also not needed for most, unless they plan to expense their parking with an employer for instance.

• If a contactless card has reached its limit, how will I pay?

  Where there is no pin pad, the card reader should never ask for your PIN and will just take payment.

• Will I still need to scan my membership card every time I visit?

  We are still asking members to scan at every visit, either via the machines in the main car park, or via the JustPark app - each time a membership card is scaned we receive £4.02 towards our vital conservation work. Both options will mean your car is recorded as being parked compliantly, and Dudmaston Estate receives extra money from general funds to spend on conservation and improvements.

• I’ve forgotten my membership card, what can I do?

  Check-in using the JustPark app.

• What happens if my membership card wont scan?

  This process will not change – if staff are present, they can examine card and suggest a course of action. Otherwise members can choose to pay, or call the Supporter Services Centre on 0344 800 1895.  

• Can we pay for different lengths of stay?

  At present, we offer a single parking charge that covers all-day parking, which helps to fund vital conservation and improvements.

• Can I book my parking in advance via the app?

  Parking can be pre-paid on the day of your visit via the JustPark app. Please note, the arrival time you enter needs to be the time you book the ticket at, and it will be valid all day as we have a single parking charge that covers all-day parking.

• I'm a National Trust for Scotland Member. Do the new machines allow me to scan my membership card?

  Currently, JustPark and our payment machines are unable to process National Trust for Scotland membership cards. Please register your car via the JustPark app.
