Into the Woods with Creative in Nature - Cyanotype Printing
Explore the natural world through the traditional photographic process of Cyanotype (sun printing).

During this workshop you will learn how to create your own cyanotype prints from natural forms.
The cyanotype process uses a mixture of iron compounds, which when exposed to UV light (sunlight) and washed in water oxidise to create lovely Prussian Blue images that look a little like blue X-Rays. We will use natural forms as the basis to create exciting and fun artwork that you will be able to take home to keep. Exploring the formal elements of shape, tone, line, form, pattern and texture as well as learning the historical photographic art of cyanotype. Suitable for children over 6+ (all children must be accompanied but an adult).
We will be using a mixture of art based inks, paints and chemicals during our processes. Gloves and aprons are available on request. Participants should bring a drink and wear weather appropriate clothing, such as a rain coat, and sunscreen if required.
These sessions are running as part of Into the Woods - a Summer of Play programme which is sponsored by Starling Bank.

This is an outdoors activity so please wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Car parking in Comer Woods is free for National Trust members or £8 per car per day. Adults must accompany and supervise their children during this activity.
