Pop Up Shop hosted by National Trust
Two local artists using mixed mediums to showcase local nature visit Lytes Cary Manor and set up in the pop up shop.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Birds and Bees at Lytes Cary brings together two environmentally engaged artists, Angela Knapp and Lydia Needle, in a pop-up exhibition inspired by the rich flora and fauna of the South West. Set within Lytes Cary Manor, the show responds directly to the surrounding landscape, creating a dialogue between art, ecology, and place.
Angela Knapp will present intricate embroidered bird studies created using textiles, paint, and repurposed materials, while Lydia Needle will show her distinctive needle-felted bee sculptures alongside new works exploring local habitats and plant life. The exhibition will feature a range of artworks for sale, from small, affordable pieces to larger, more detailed artworks as well as cards and prints. Together, the artists offer pieces that celebrate biodiversity and reflect on the challenges facing the natural world.
Each artist will have artworks in progress, demonstrating their process, giving an opportunity to engage with the work, creating a connection to both art and artist.
