The varied habitats around Dunwich Heath support nine recorded species of Suffolk's bats. Join us for a fascinating evening stroll to observe bats, learn more about their ecology and the work we do at Dunwich Heath to support these elusive little mammals. Please bring a bat detector if you have one.

This event is only suitable for older children.

Meeting point

Please meet at the Visitor Information Hut near the Coastguard Cottages.

What to bring and wear

Please wear sensible footwear and warm clothes depending on the weather. It is advisable to bring waterproofs and mosquito repellent. If you have a bat detector, please do bring that too.

Accessibility

Accessible to all, but please note that this outdoor activity will take place on mixed terrain. An off-road mobility scooter is available to hire, but please book this in advance.
