Heritage Open Days: The Earl's Summerhouse Project

This tour will explore the history of the Earl’s Summerhouse.

  • Booking essential

Over the last 2 years we have been working on a major project to repair and conserve an iconic piece of Ickworth’s history. The 1st Earl’s Summerhouse is the oldest building on the estate, built in the early 1700s and requires ongoing periods of repair to ensure its future. This tour will explore the history of the building and what work the National Trust has done, working with heritage contractors and building surveyors to repair and conserve an important and significant building.

The tour is roughly 45 minutes, up to an hour long.
