Costumed Interpretation

Immerse yourself in Ickworth's servants' quarters as our team of costumed volunteers bring the world of the 1930s life. Chat to them about the highs and lows of working in ‘the big house’ and enjoy whole-family fun.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Visit the Rotunda's servants' quarters to see our costumed volunteers recreate the world of 1930s service. You can chat to the servants' about what it takes to keep the House running smoothly, learn about the daily routines, as well as what they get up to in their spare time!

The stories shared are all informed by Ickworth’s incredible archive of recordings that capture the memories of the staff who worked at Ickworth in the 1930s and 1940s.
