This summer we are holding a series of workshops and craft sessions in our Walled Garden during Summer of Play. Located in our Creative and Performance play zone, you’ll find lots of exciting activities to participate in under the big stretch tent.
Spark your children’s imagination as you join Ivy the Explorer on one of her wild adventures through nature!
Visitors will become epic explorers and help Ivy on her exciting expedition around the Walled Garden. Who and what will you meet along the way? This interactive storytelling journey incorporates dramatic, imaginative and fantasy play as we create the characters and adventure together! This session is suitable for children between the ages of 5-11.
Every Friday Bethan will run an hour-long storytelling session between 11:45-12:45. There is no need to book these sessions, please just head down to the Walled Garden where Bethan will meet you at the Stretch tent.

- Suitability
This session is aimed at children between the ages of 5-11
- Meeting point
Please head down to the Walled Garden for the workshop. The session will take place in the stretch tent. Allow 15-20 minutes from arrival at the kiosk to walk down to the Walled Garden.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear weather appropriate clothing. These sessions will take place around the Walled Garden, please bring water and suncream as some of the session will take place in full sun.
- Accessibility
The path from the Welcome Point to the Walled Garden is hardstanding and takes around 10-20 minutes to walk it. During the summer our shuttle bus will make trips to and from the Walled Garden to aid those who are not able to walk there. The ground in the Walled Garden is grassy and undulating. Some manual and electric wheelchairs may find this terrain challenging to move across.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that Summer of Play is a free event but non-National Trust members will still need to pay entrance fee to Ickworth Estate.
