Find out how nature has reclaimed the land and buildings at Orford Ness, which was a hive of military of activity from the First World War right through to the Cold War.
On this guided walk, you'll join one of our rangers on a stroll around Orford Ness and find out how we look after the landscape, as well as more about the different species that have made it their home.
Please note: This is an outdoor walking event. The route will be decided on the day due to weather and seasonal interest and does not include wider access to Orford Ness.

- Meeting point
Please book in at the Quay Office on arrival. The ferry will leave Orford quay at 9.30am.
- What to bring and wear
Orford Ness is an exposed coastal location. Please wear sturdy walking shoes/boots and dress appropriately for the weather.
- Accessibility
Orford Ness is only accessible by ferry, which involves navigating steep, sometimes slippery, steps. Accessibility vehicles are available. For more information, please call the Orford Ness office on 01394 450900 to discuss arrangements.
