The sun shines first on Suffolk, so make a plan to enjoy the wonderful landscape and heritage on Orford Ness in a free open day, exclusive to residents of Suffolk.
Space is limited, and you'll need to book in advance. You'll also need to bring proof of a Suffolk address with you on the day.

- Meeting point
Your ticket time includes a 10 minute window to check in at our ticket office on Orford Quay. Your ferry will depart promptly at the end time stated on your booking slot. Please arrive on time.
- What to bring and wear
Orford Ness is an exposed coastal location, please dress for the weather!
- Accessibility
Access is via our ferry. Depending on the level of tide this will involve negotiating a number of steps which may be slippery.
- Other
Our ferry departs every 20 minutes between 10am and 12pm. You will need to book and stick to your outbound ferry time. You are then free to explore as long as you like, as long as you are back before the last ferry to the mainland at 5pm. Please book a ticket for all passengers, including children. If you miss your outbound ferry we may not be able to accommodate you. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your ferry to check in. Proof of Suffolk residency will be required on the day. Sadly, due to ground nesting birds, dogs are not allowed on Orford Ness (except assistance dogs).
