Discover waxy magnolias, winding garden paths and fragrant spring bulbs and blossom in our gardens in Surrey. Come out for an uplifting spring stroll at Polesden Lacey, Hatchlands Park, Claremont Landscape Garden and Winkworth Arboretum.
Don’t miss the vibrant Spring Borders at Polesden, with large swathes of yellow, cream and golden daffodils emerging in March. Look out for pretty wildflowers in Preserve Copse and the handkerchief tree in the Upper Sunken Garden, flowering around April and May and carpeted underneath with delicate, blue camassias. From mid-April, gorgeous wisteria comes to life in the Rose Garden, with showers of elegant lilac flowers and a fragrant aroma.

Winkworth really comes to life in spring, with the magnolia blooms joined by cherry blossom and drifts of bluebells. The azalea walk is a mass of colour at the end of April, lining the path to the boathouse which overlooks the lake.On the Bluebell Walk, the woodland floor comes alive in April and May with breathtaking fields of purple. These mostly native bulbs are one of Winkworth's most famous and beloved sights.

Little Wix Wood at Hatchland Park is one of the finest bluebell woods in Surrey, flowering in April and May. This quiet patch of ancient woodland was first recorded in the Chertsey Chronicles during the 13th century. Take the Wix Woods Walk, following the blue way-marker posts, to get there.

Spring offers the chance to stroll through corridors of rhododendrons, feed tiny goslings, and make the most of the longer days in this historic royal pleasure ground. Admire the huge eighteenth-century grass amphitheatre and enjoy a slice of delicious cake and coffee. It's a lovely place for a romantic walk.
