Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to look after the collection at Bateman’s?

Chat to the Bateman’s collections and house team and watch as they clean and maintain items from the collection, from tapestries to Rudyard Kipling’s beloved blue Rolls Royce.

The team will be looking after:

Hall Tapestry/May Morris wall hanging on 13 March Dining Room leather on 10 April Parlour sofa/carpet on 8 May Metals on 12 June Four poster bed on 10 July Rolls Royce on 14 August Study globes and glass bookshelf cabinet on 11 September Hall/Elsie’s metals on 9 October Study desk on 13 November Rolls Royce on 11 December 11.30am–3.30pm

Please ask at visitor reception for a meeting point.

What to bring and wear

Please wear clothing suitable for the weather.

Accessibility

The Parlour and Elsie’s Sitting Room are wheelchair accessible via the front entrance of the house. The Rolls Royce garage has a step up into the building and isn’t wheelchair accessible, but it still viewable from the path.
