Discover characters from the book hidden around the castle and grounds. As you seek out each character, learn a little more about their real-life role at Bodiam Castle.

Masons, minstrels and kings all play a part in the Bodiam Castle story. Which of these colourful characters will you discover to be your favourite? Along this family-friendly trail there will be puzzles to solve and for 2024, new games to play. Receive a prize for all your efforts. This trail is in collaboration with Nosy Crow, with illustrations by Tom Froese from the book, The Castle the King built (also available in the Bodiam Castle shop).

There are gravel paths from visitor reception to the castle and around the moat. Elsewhere in the grounds there is uneven terrain.
