'For there she was': Dalloway Day Celebration
This special event in partnership with Charleston Trust launches a fundraising campaign for the conservation of Virginia Woolf's shawl. An intimate evening event outdoors with readings from Mrs Dalloway.

'For there she was' : a Dalloway Day Celebration with Holly Dawson and Charlie Porter exploring the novel Mrs Dalloway and it's enduring resonance and power. Olivier award winning and BAFTA -nominated actress Lindsay Duncan ('Birdman', 'About time', 'Gifted') will perform readings from the novel, bringing Woolf's voice to vivid life.
This special event is in partnership with Charleston Trust and launches the Monk's House campaign to fundraise £26,000 for the conservation of Virginia Woolf's shawl. Incredibly fragile and believed to be the only surviving item of her clothing the shawl offers a rare and tangible link to Virginia Woolf's daily life. Specialist conservation work is needed to stabilise the shawl and protect it for future display at Monk's House.
